Newcastle win for SEESAWING at Newcastle today on only his second start for the yard. On his stable debut her over 7f last time out he ran far better than his finishing position suggested. Despite finishing 6th, he was only beaten 1.5 lengths, so we came into this race today with some degree of confidence. We put cheekpieces on, for this drop in trip to 6f, and they seemed to do the trick.
He wasn’t best away but nothing really wanted to go on and he soon took advantage and went to the front. He was able to dictate the pace and saved plenty in reserve for the finish, so he was always doing enough to hold on in the closing stages.
Congratulations to owner John Levey and apprentice jockey Mark Crehan.
