Star Of St James wins at Redcar!
STAR OF ST JAMES has an uncomplicated front-running style which was well suited to this sort of event and he gained reward for some good runner-up efforts in recent months. He has relished a sustained run on turf and has been a very consistent horse lately, knocking on the door in his past three runs where he has just been beaten into second.
Thankfully today he got his head in front over a mile under Stephanie Dorey in the Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap. It was Stephanie’s second winner and her first ride for Team Furtado. “That’s not a bad strike rate, eh?” she said.
